Cannes line-up: Jean-Luc Godard, Spike Jonze
Festival de Cannes released its full film line-up today for the festival's 71st edition, being held on the 8th-19th of May. This year, Cate Blanchett presides as the President of the festival’s Official Competition Jury; Benicio del Toro as the President of the Un Certain Regard Jury; Ursula Meier as the President of the Jury of the Caméra d'or; and Bertrand Bonello as the Président of the Cinéfondation and Short Films Jury.

Synopsis: Carolina, a Spanish woman living in Buenos Aires, returns to her hometown outside Madrid with her Argentinian husband and children. However, the trip is upset by unexpected events that bring secrets into the open.
Synopsis: Paris, summer 1979. Anne is a producer of cheap gay porn. Sergey DVORTSEVOY Ayka / My Little One
Synopsis: A young Kyrgyz girl - Ayka - lives and works illegally in Moscow. After giving birth to her son she leaves him in hospital. Some time later, however, her motherly yearning leads her to desperate attempts of finding the abandoned child.
Synopsis: Despite heavy financial sacrifices on the part of their employees and record profits that year, the management of Perrin Industries decides to shut down a factory. The 1100 employees, led by their spokesman Laurent Amédéo, decide to fight this brutal decision, ready to do everything to save their jobs.
Synopsis: A revenge drama set on Rome’s crime-ridden outskirts, inspired by a homicide committed by a coked-out dog groomer during the late 1980s, Dogman focuses on what’s described as one of the most gruesome murder cases in post-WWII Italy concerning a coked-up dog groomer in 1980’s suburban gangland.

Ryusuke HAMAGUCHI Netemo Sametemo (Asako I & II) Etemo
Synopsis: One day Asako’s first love suddenly disappears. Two years later, she meets his perfect double. Asako is a 21-year-old woman, living in Osaka, who falls in love with Baku. One day, Baku disappears. Two years later, Asako meets Ryohei who looks just like Baku, in Tokyo, but he has a completely different character and she falls in love with him.
Synopsis: Jacques is a writer living in Paris. He hasn’t turned 40 but already mistrusts that the best in life is yet to come. Arthur is a student living in Brittany. He reads and smiles a lot and refuses to think that everything in life might not be possible. Jacques and Arthur will like each other. Just like in a lovely dream. Just like in a sad story.
Synopsis: Somewhere in Kurdistan, not too long ago, Bahar (Farahani), a young lawyer, visits her family. Upon her release, she goes looking for Bin to pick up where they left off. A story of love, betrayal and loyalty set in China’s underworld.
Synopsis: After one of their shoplifting sessions, Osamu and his son come across a little girl in the freezing cold. At first reluctant to shelter the girl, Osamu’s wife agrees to take care of her after learning of the hardships she faces. Although the family is poor, barely making enough money to survive through petty crime, they seem to live happily together until an unforeseen incident reveals hidden secrets, testing the bonds that unite them…
Synopsis: Capernaum is the voice of a child who claims a dignified and decent life in the name of all those disinherited from the earth. The subject (which is not in line with previous films) is dear to the heart of the Lebanese filmmaker who fights against any injustice done to children. When Hae-mi comes back, she introduces Ben, a mysterious guy she met in Africa, to Jong-soo. One day, Ben visits Jong-soo's with Hae-mi and confesses his own secret hobby.
Spike LEE Black Klansman
Synopsis: Ron Stallworth, an African-American police officer from Colorado, successfully managed to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan and became the head of the local chapter.
David Robert MITCHELL Under the Silver Lake
Synopsis: Young and disenchanted Sam meets a mysterious and beautiful woman who's swimming in his building's pool one night. When she suddenly vanishes the next morning, Sam embarks on a surreal quest across Los Angeles to decode the secret behind her disappearance, leading him into the murkiest depths of mystery, scandal and conspiracy.
Synopsis: A famous Iranian actress receives the disturbing video of a young girl imploring her help to escape her conservative family ... She then asks her friend, director Jafar Panahi, to help her understand if it is about a manipulation. Together, they take the road to the girl's village in the remote northern mountains where ancestral traditions continue to dictate local life.
Pawel PAWLIKOWSKI Zimna Wojna (Cold War)
Synopsis: Cold War is a passionate love story between two people of different backgrounds and temperaments, who are fatally mismatched and yet fatefully condemned to each other. Set against the background of the Cold War in the 1950s in Poland, Berlin, Yugoslavia and Paris – the film depicts an impossible love story in impossible times.
Alice ROHRWACHER Lazzaro Felice (My Bitter Land)
Synopsis: The adventures of a man living on the margins of his society who can seemingly travel through time.
Synopsis: Yomeddine is a coming-of-age comedic drama, a road trip where two outcasts, Beshay and Shika, discover the harshness of the world outside the leper colony where they have spent all their lives. After the death of his wife, Beshay and his apprentice, Shika, travel on a donkey cart southwards to search for what remains of Beshay's family. They hope to find out why his father never came back for him after dropping him off at the gates of the colony when he was a little child.
Kirill SEREBRENNIKOV Leto (Summer)
Synopsis: A tale of rock, love and friendship, Leto takes place in Leningrad over the summer of 1981, when the underground rock scene started blossoming, influenced by Western rock stars like Led Zeppelin and David Bowie. The film delivers a snapshot of this vibrant era and charts the coming of age and rise to fame of young rock singers, including Viktor Tsoi, who turned out to become a pioneer of Russian rock.
